The foundation of Munich dates back to 1158 when Henry The Lion King started to collect tolls from the only bridge where the monks lived. The family of  Wiitelsbach ruled the principality of Bavaria and made Munich 1806 it's capital. They started most of the famous breweries in Munich.

This tour gives you a comprehensive survey of the major and most beautiful sights of Munich.

If you don't like seafood, Bavaria is the place. Pork knuckle cold cuts and sausages are very common in daily dishes. Most german dishes are quite heavy, big in size and made to suit the large steins of beer. Over the years the menu has changed due to strong international influence.  You find any type of food in this city nowadays.

Beer, beer and beer. No other city in the world is more identified with this beverage. Around Munich you will find more breweries and beer gardens than anywhere else in the world.

Some of the oldest breweries in the world are located round Munich. The oldest however is int he nearby town of Freising and called Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan founded 1040. The beer is fresh, don't worry, Prost. Founded by  monks it is today owned by the state of Bavaria.and is as well one of the few brew master schools  in the world.

Freising has another brewery called Hofbrauhaus Freising founded 1160

From Bier garden (in summer) to night clubs. You will find any entertainment you are looking for. The old town has more pubs and bars than the rest of the city. Ask for Hofbrauhaus and you are there.
