As
Indonesia is a tremendous multiracial and multicultural society you are
well of in respecting their traditions and believes. We were the other day
in Bali and some western female tourists had to sunbath topless. That's a
no no. Don't be surprised you get raped when you show your body parts
freely. |

Indonesia's
history as the country we know it today, is approximate
100 years old. The archipelago however with it's hundreds of
ethnic groups dates back 3000 years. Southern Chinese and
Vietnamese at that time. Today's rice cultivation dates back

brought with the Buddhist culture. One the the most famous

From the 15th century onward Indonesia's and Malaysia's
history shared much the same fate. The Portuguese founded
Nusantra, the predecessor of Indonesia. The Dutch came as
traders until the Japanese invasion during 1942-45. In
1949 Indonesia gained it's independence from Holland. Although
the population consist still of numerous ethnic groups as well
as dialects, the national language is Bahasa Indonesia, quite similar
to Bahasa Malaysia. It's young history has had some turbulent
moments, it remains one of the most fascinating destination in
