Colonel William Light founded the modern Adelaide with it's broad streets and parks. No other Australian city has more restaurants, pubs and bars per capita. With almost 1.5 million inhabitants it give more the impression of being a large village than a real city. One of the reason might be that Adelaide is the preferred place for old folks.

A Barossa Valley tour  with Hahndorf lets you taste some wine, enjoy the nice scenery in the Adelaide hills and finish of in the German influenced town of Hahndorf.
Kangaroo Island with it's beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, unique marine and wild life is a must for for divers and nature lovers alike. At Seal Bay you will see sea-lions and in the national Park Flanders chase you'll find kangaroos, koalas, wallabies and more.

Adelaide has more restaurants per capita than any other Australian city. The most popular menu items are seafood from the clear waters. Rundle and Gouger Street has a wide range of restaurants. Local food as well as Greek, Italian and other cusines can be found here.

The Adelaide region is well known for it's good wins. Some of the big names are here like Wolf Blass, but there are quite a number of small excellent vineyards as well. being a preferred area by the German settlers you'll find a wide variety of beers as well.

Adelaide has plenty of bars between North Terrace and Rundle Road, most close early. The casino or Skycity as it's called next to the railway station is open 24 hours a day.
